Woodford School Lusaka will be having its inaugural PTA Cultural Day on Saturday, 25 June, under the theme “Embracing Cultural Diversity”.

Learning about one’s own culture is just as important as learning about others when it comes to developing cultural understanding among students. Embracing cultural diversity in a school teaches students the following:

  • become more empathetic
  • gain a better understanding of lessons and people
  • become more open-minded
  • feel more confident and safe
  • students are better prepared for a diverse workplace

The day is intended to expose the learners to the diversity of different cultures through food, dressing, songs, dances and other traditional activities such as games.

The day will also provide an opportunity for the Woodford School community (parents) to interact with each other and share ideas about our different cultures.

During the event, the Woodford School Lusaka students will provide entertainment through dances, songs, a fashion parade, and many more traditional games.

On the programme are the Itambi cultural group and Soul Brothers to spice up the event.

Parents and the general public are welcome to book a stand to sell cuisines, artwork, beadwork, and fabric from their cultures.

Come and have fun as we learn and exchange ideas about different cultures.
