Woodford School Lusaka had its annual Social Studies Week from March 18 to 22. During this special week, we offered our students an immersive journey through time, space, and cultures, aiming to broaden their horizons and deepen their understanding of the world.

Throughout the week, students  delved into exploration and cultural discovery. ELC  students learned to read the compass, lower primary students joined hands for an environmental clean-up, and upper primary students unravelled the mysteries of cartography through map making.

Wednesday was  a  day of storytelling  and  debate.  ELC   students  embarked  on  a  journey through storytelling  time  travel,  igniting  their  curiosity  for  history.  Lower and  upper  primary  students engaged in debates, which served as an excellent platform for honing their critical thinking skills.

Culinary delights took centre stage on Thursday as students savoured flavours from various cultures in our country and further  away. As the week concluded, students  focused on financial literacy, with ELC  students revisiting the village setting to showcase their creativity.

Social Studies Week at Woodford School Lusaka was more than a series of activities—it  was a journey of  exploration  and  growth.  Through  hands-on   experiences,  engaging  narratives,   and  cultural exchanges, students broadened their horizons and deepened their understanding of the world.

We are confident that the students will carry memories of engaging activities they were immersed in and invaluable lessons that will shape their perspectives and empower them to become responsible global citizens. Look at some of the beautiful moments from Social Studies week.
