The Zambia Spelling Bee Organisation recently hosted its Lusaka District Spelling Bee at Rhodes Park School on April 6th, 2024.

Woodford School Lusaka students showed exceptional enthusiasm and talent for this year’s bee, with 43 students registering to participate. This huge interest is evident that the love for language and  learning is thriving at Woodford School Lusaka. These students had a great opportunity to develop their language skills, such as vocabulary and spelling, both as they prepared for this event and during the event.

We are happy to share that seven students from our school secured a spot in the provincial round.
This achievement is a testament to their hard work and dedication, and we extend our heartfelt
congratulations to the following students: Chilufya Nonde; Joseph Sike; Notulu Mubita; Kayla
Mandona; Kondwani Lilanda; Lumba Hachaambwa; and Katongo Mupunda.

As with any competition, some students did not advance to the next round. However, they still have an opportunity to re-register and give qualification another shot in the coming few weeks. They must understand that resilience and determination are key qualities that lead to growth and success, and we hope many of these students re-register in the future.

We thank all parents and guardians for their unwavering support throughout the event. Your
encouragement and presence uplift our students, reinforce a sense of community and
togetherness within our school.

The Zambia Spelling Bee Organisation’s commitment to enhancing language skills is commendable, and we are proud to be part of such a valuable initiative. We look forward to continued participation and success in future events.
